  11. Speaking as a soldier I know and understand the lost of a fellow Brother or Sister-in-Arms> It is an emotional time for all. The bottom line is if Death could have been avoided; then it is truly a waste of a good person's life. If Death is to come; then let it be in the act of trying to save someone's life. In doing so, it gives meaning and testament to the character the person that has died in the line of duty. Their Death is given meaning with Honour and Love toward their fellow man. Jesus said, "there is no greater Love a man can show his brother than to lay his life down for him." Each and every first responder, be they law enforcement, military, medics, firefighters, and good Samaritans know that death is a possibility, we do what we can to minimize it, add safety measures, increase personnel, whatever it takes to come home to our love ones. Unfortunately, every once in awhile someone falls in the line of duty and we mourn their lost for it reminds us how precious life really is.

As a soldier, to a fallen officer, I salute you Officer Second Grade Leann Simpson, Thank-You for your service and dedication to duty.

  14. I am so sorry to hear about this. This news really reinforces what law enforcement officers do for the people in there district. The risk they take putting the uniform on and responding to calls. I am so thankful for them. You did this officer justice Dan. Thank you for your service.
